What can you expect in a Yoga Therapy Session?
Although each session is unique it usually flows something like this:
10 minutes: You share your current issues or symptoms (what brought you to YT.)
10 minutes: We discuss root causes of these issues and the the interrelated systems of body, intellect, emotions, breath, and energy.
5 minutes: We create goals together for your healing process.
40 minutes: We practice an individualized program of treatment including:
* Postures and movement to create a strong and flexible body
* Breathing exercises to stabilize emotions
* Concentration techniques to calm and focus the mind
* Affirmations/Mantras to eradicate negative patterns of belief and self talk
* Visualizations and recommendations for optimal relaxation and vitality
* Self reflection exercises to increase mindful awareness
* Meditation practices for expansion of consciousness toward Self realization
* Motivation and homework for daily practice
Each practice is tailored to YOU. If I treat two people suffering from depression, their practices will be as different and unique as those people are. Yoga Therapy can be used in conjunction with western medicine, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, psychotherapy or any other approach to healing.

Why should you work with me instead of someone else?
I know how to laugh at life's craziness and then dig in to serious solutions.
Thirteen years ago I was pursuing a Master's Degree in Spiritual Psychology while at the same time practicing Yoga & Meditation.
My thesis was an original theory of counseling which I called "Joy Therapy" and while writing, I realized that it was all coming from my Yoga & Meditation practice, not from Jung, Freud or Rogers.
All the answers to life's problems are outlined in the Yoga Sutras in a detailed plan that shows us how we can be happy and free from suffering.
I started testing my theory out in my own life. and lo and behold...it worked!
So I ditched the degree and created a Yoga Therapy practice rather than become a traditional Psychotherapist. These many years later, I have plenty of proof that this approach WORKS. You can read Testimonials from Yoga Therapy Clients and I hope to share this incredible journey with you!

"I enjoy how Yoga Therapy combines traditional therapy with other dynamic practices. There is time for the talk, but then there is also time to incorporate the talk through meditation, breathing, postures, body work etc. Jennie does a wonderful, compassionate job and I feel like she is genuinely invested in her work. It's clear that she holds us dearly and I really appreciate that so much. " ~ Gwen
